Services
Audiology and Hearing Aid Center’s primary focus is to create an unsurpassed patient experience through our caring and highly trained doctors of audiology.
We do not do hearing tests like big retail chains like Costco, Beltone, or Miracle-Ear. We provide world-class diagnostic hearing and balance evaluations and treatment and use advanced testing to understand our patients’ hearing and balance.
Did you know that two hearing tests from two different people can look exactly alike, but your ability to hear can be completely different? A retail hearing aid store will likely give you and your friend the same hearing aids with the same programming. But we don’t do that. We perform proper diagnostic testing, and when we fit hearing aids, we follow our proprietary 30-day hearing aid fitting protocol to guarantee 100% patient satisfaction using real ear measurements. We customize it exactly for you.
Our hearing aids are also world-class. We select from the top manufacturers across the globe, with a preference for American made hearing aids when possible. We make custom impressions to match your ear perfectly. And we carefully follow-up with our patients regularly to ensure ongoing satisfaction.
Of course, we also offer boutique hearing aids like the IIC style hearing aids by Starkey and the hassle-free invisible Lyric hearing aids for our selective patients who value discretion and ease of use. We have many patients who are top officials, lawyers, tech moguls, actors, musicians, doctors, and diplomats who prefer these types of devices. The Lyric, as an example, is like a contact lens for the ear requiring virtually no maintenance and no batteries to change or charge.
Please don’t get the wrong idea, though; we do not only see the rich and famous; we have patients from all walks of life, ages, and races. If you are ready to take your hearing to the next level, we can help. Also, if you already have hearing aids from somewhere else and need assistance, we can optimize them to help you hear better.
We treat patients the way they should be treated – with kindness, expertise, and exceptional follow-up care. In our region, discerning patients expect to see highly credentialed providers for their hearing and balance care. This is why both physicians and patients trust our practice. We have a supervising audiologist at every location and accept all major insurance plans for a full range of diagnostic and retail services and products. We have excellent relationships with local universities and prestigious hospitals, including Johns Hopkins, the University of Maryland, and Georgetown University. We are among the very few clinics in the country with two rotary chairs for advanced balance evaluations. We help children and adults with their hearing and balance, and we are the practice of choice for Universities to send their interns for training as well.
For these reasons, as well as the reputation of many of our providers, we hope that you will trust us to provide you with the very best hearing and balance care. We look forward to your visit.

Hearing Tests
Did you know the average person lives with hearing loss for seven years before they seek help? Imagine all the sounds you miss in seven years. Don’t miss a moment of the soundtrack of your life. Start with a complete audiological evaluation at one of our convenient locations to assess your ability to hear and process sounds. A hearing test is the first step in identifying and treating your hearing needs. It involves a painless process that is noninvasive and conducted by our expert audiologist.
An audiological evaluation measures your hearing capacity in both ears which identifies any impairment and the degree of hearing loss you could be experiencing. Once we have this information, we can recommend the treatment options that will best meet your needs and enhance your hearing health.
Hearing Aid Fitting
The next step after completing the hearing test is selecting and fitting the hearing aid device that will maximize your hearing. We use our expertise, extensive experience, and knowledge of the latest hearing aid technology to recommend the device that will be optimal for you. Depending on the specific hearing aid you choose, we will take molds of your ear to customize the hearing aid pieces to fit you perfectly.
During your fitting appointment, your audiologist will program the settings on your device to meet your specific hearing loss needs. We will then thoroughly discuss your device with you - going through how to maximize its use, the features, and settings available to you, how to effectively maintain the device, and how to properly insert and remove it. We want to ensure that you are as comfortable and knowledgeable about your new device as possible!

Hearing Protection
In addition to treating hearing loss, we are invested in protecting hearing health from further harm. One way we do this is by making custom hearing protection. Wearing hearing protection is an effective way to reduce exposure to loud noise. Absorbing noise not only is a major cause of hearing loss but can also heighten hearing loss symptoms like tinnitus. According to the Hearing Loss Association of America, 22 million people are exposed to hazardous levels of noise in the workplace.
Additionally, the World Health Organization estimates that over 1 billion people globally are currently at a higher risk of developing hearing loss due to loud noise exposure. This highlights the importance of protecting hearing health and hearing protection is a key way to do that. Our practice makes individualized earplugs by taking custom molds of your ear. This ensures a perfect fit in your ear canals and this protective wear offers a barrier that reduces the impact of loud noise.
